Three things decide whether a sleeping bag is safe to ship

• The neck opening is the one dimension that matters. Too wide and a child slips down inside with the fabric over their head; too narrow and the sleep bag will not go on. The standard sets a floor as well as a ceiling, and measures it relaxed — because a stretch knit can gauge correct while stretched and gap the moment it is not. On bamboo spandex that is a pattern decision, long before it is a sewing one.
• A TOG rating applies to the sleeveless version. Sleeves add warmth the rating does not count, so a 2.5 TOG bag with sleeves is not the same garment in a crib as a 2.5 TOG bag without. Both are offered — the rating has to say which one it describes.
• The zip does three jobs, and all of them are about safety. It starts at the bottom so a change happens without undoing the whole bag; it runs with a guard so neither the pull nor the teeth sit against skin; and it stops clear of where a chin lands.

European test reports to EN 16781, the EU technical file and the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, Product Class I certificate go out with the quote, together with the Children's Product Certificate and tracking label that US orders require under CPSIA. Send your retailer's checklist and we will return the paperwork against it before you place the order — that is the point of a made-to-order bag rather than a stock one.

Fabric, and the one figure worth knowing

Tanboocel® bamboo viscose is smooth at the fiber, breathable and durable through the washing a newborn bag actually gets. That matters more here than on any other garment, because the bag is the layer a baby cannot kick off, and a bag that traps damp is one a baby wakes up in. On file: Anti-Pilling Grade 3.5+, Shrinkage ≤ 4%, Fastness Grade 4. Vertical integration from fiber to finished bag and digital active dyeing in-house are what let a solid colorway hold on a reorder rather than be re-approximated.

Quality control, as it actually runs

Most suppliers answer with a percentage. This is the process: four quality checks during production, with photographs and production details sent as the order moves, so you are seeing the run rather than a report on it at the end. Every bag carries a 100% quality check before it is packed.
